2017
Our journey with 3D printing began with a collaboration with T-Mobile in 2017, alongside team of Trilab (now Prusa Research), a project that introduced 3D printing for food applications—specifically, chocolate. This early work with customized 3D printers underscored Boem’s commitment to unique, groundbreaking projects and future innovation.
2019
Collaborating with Czech designers Karel Matějka and Karel Kříž, we released a collection of high-end 3D-printed masks during the beggining of Covid-19. These designs were the first, we shared as a digital design to the world for everybody having access to FDM, MJF & SLS technology. This year marked the unofficial beginning of Boem’s Printables journey and laid the foundation for digital store.
2020
The design ethos was clear from the start: We wewe committed to simplicity and empowering customers to craft their own products at home.
Launch of Boem Store
In response to rising demand for accessible 3D printers, in 2020 we launched boem.store (now boem.co). The timing was fortuitous: with global lockdowns, interest in DIY and digital creation. Even though 3D printers had started to become affordable, using them and designing products was still not convenient, and the community had already begun sharing their creations.
So, we wanted to apply our design experience to show what kinds of products could be designed, what materials and settings to use, so that the results would look great even with the simplest printers. The first printers we used were for the purpose the cheapest aviable – K200 Delta, one of the cheapest options, and the very accessible Anycubic Kossel. On these printers, we designed our first collections: Wrap It, Roll It Collecion—using early filaments mixed with wood particles, Nothing Else Collection—for the very first matte-textured filaments, with simple geometry that didn’t require cooling, supports, or infill on the printer and Meringue Collection to try something more naturalistic.
2021
First Commercial Reseller
Only a few months after Boem Store’s launch, the interest in Boem’s designs led to the first commercial license agreement in January 2021. An Indonesian reseller became the first to offer Boem’s Meringue vases under this license, bringing the collection’s flowing, natural aesthetics to a new audience. This motivated us to keep expanding reseller opportunities, enabling others to simply put a licence to the basket and earn money from our designs.

Printing on the road
Traveling was one of the main reasons we started this project. Our work usually binds us to one place and with the arrival of each new product, we need to be personally present throughout the process. It can take months, or sometimes even years to perfect a product. We wanted to put our work in a slightly more independent position so that we could travel and discover new places.
Traveling has always been the most important source of inspiration for our work, and besides, there are so many places worth visiting throughout this amazing world.
2022
Our work attracted collaborations, like with Minimalissimo and Enable 3D to design products suitable for both brands. Boem’s Nothing Else gained significant recognition and was honored with the Taipei Design Award and exhibited in selections in Brussels Design week and Gdynia Design Days.
Building on popularity in home decor and accessories, we began exploring larger printable furniture items and lifestyle-oriented products. This evolution aligned with our vision of integrating 3D-printed objects into all aspects of daily life, providing stylish, functional products without the environmental cost of traditional manufacturing.
Among the most popular lifestyle items were custom eyewear designs and even 3D-printed shoes, which allowed customers to personalize each product to their own preferences. The focus shifted toward lifestyle products with personalization and flexibility.
2023
In 2023 we launch a new line of high-end products, 3D-printed eyewear crafted from MJF Nylon. These limited-edition designs brought Boem’s distinct approach , combining cutting-edge 3D-printing techniques with a refined aesthetic appeal. Participation at Designblok 2023 for the first time presented the Boem’s physical printables .
